Some people mentioned that they liked this better than the first one so I wanted to give it a chance (again it’s not too long).

I can report that I did get on with the writing style a little better in this book, I didn’t find that it interfered as much with the story. I also enjoyed the tale a lot more.

A young girl becomes Arha (the Eaten One) the First Priestess of the Nameless Ones in the Tombs of Atuan. She doesn’t have a choice in the matter. She spends her days trapped in the service of these unseen dark gods, learning the turns of the labyrinth above which she lives. One day, the wizard Ged appears in the tunnels looking to steal the half-ring of Erreth-Akbe. They end up partnering up and escaping together.
